Jon Phonics Sees a 7" as a Reason to Party
Jon Phonics’ beat work can often be heard as the backdrop for UK lyricists like Mr. Drastick, M9, and Verb T, but his new 7″ is just him, and he’s armed with a lot of low end.
Phonics is taking a break from the hip hop production and will drop a couple of serious bass tracks this month.
His solo work ranges from electro and disco to dubstep and grime. Just check out the mix below, a promo session for his launch party this week. Style-wise, it’s all over the place, but Phonics blends it all seamlessly.
Bruck Out/The One is out on April 25th, and if you happen to be in London on Friday, hit up The Old Blue Last for the launch party. Jon Phonic’s Chakra Sounds labelmate Evil Ed will be spinning, and he made this.
That should be reason enough.
