The First of Many EPs in 2011 by The Hague's D-Felic
The Hague must be bumping, because this is my second find there this week. No wonder D-Felic called his first album Oost West Thuis Best (No Place Like Home).
The Dutch producer just dropped something soulful with a couple of lady vocalists.
Fly Girls is an EP featuring vocals by Miss Pepita and Jenni Alpert. D-Felic’s beats are sparse and jittery in the way of neo-soul, with plenty of classic drum machine sounds and raw synths.
Have a listen to the instrumental cut of “Calidos Impulsos,” a slow moving track that’s just a little bit crunk.
D-Felic dropped an album last month and has vowed to put out an EP every month this year until August. I’m not sure what to expect from the rest of them, but judging from his past work, it’s likely he won’t keep running with the same vocalists.
Let’s keep an ear on it and see what he comes up with.
