New Album from Keys Prodigy Austin Peralta Drops on Brainfeeder
New stuff to feed your brain.
Austin Peralta is young enough to make you feel old. The 21-year old keys player released his first two albums in his teen years, and jazz was the language. Today he finds himself in the company of Flying Lotus and the Brainfeeder crew.
Peralta’s new record Endless Planets drops tomorrow on Brainfeeder, and his prodigious keyboard style has grown from jazz into the abstraction-soaked, ambient, and unpredictable styles of his label-mates and contemporaries.
We recently heard Peralta as part of the Brainfeeder takeover of Benji B’s show on BBC Radio 1, and the kid dropped a set that easily matched the quality of other participants like TOKiMONSTA and the Gaslamp Killer. We’re expecting a lot from his record, and no doubt those expectations will be met.
In interesting trivia on this kid, he’s the son of old school Zephyr team skater Stacy Peralta. Not that it has anything to do with is music.
Hear “Epilogue: Renaissance Bubbles,” the final track off of Endless Planets.
