Teebs Releases Ardour B-Sides With 150 Different Covers
The B stands for Bad-a$$ beats.
LA abstract beatmaker Teebs recently released the B-sides from his fall 2010 release Ardour. Remember that cover? Looked something like a multi-colored brain collapsing into itself. Well, each copy of Ardour B-sides comes with a custom painted cover. Only 150 were created, and each one is completely unique. Please note that illegal downloads of this release do not come with one-of-a-kind covers. Just sayin’.
Ardour B-sides is filled with gems, including a remix of a Daedelus track that Teebs made while on tour with him. The selection here is stuff that didn’t make the cut for Ardour. That doesn’t make them lesser tracks, however. They all still have that feel of ambient hip hop that Teebs helped pioneer in the LA area.
The custom covers, as far as we can tell, look like spray painted bits of wood. And even if you wanted one, they are almost gone! He will have only a few with him on his current tour.
But! And there’s always a but… Teebs has put some unreleased work up for free. This collection from 2009 was never supposed to be released, but here it is! Figure that one out.
