KiloWatts and Bluetech Cross an Ocean to Become Invisible Allies

In today’s rough and tumble world, it doesn’t hurt to have friends, even if you can’t see them.

Cover art for Hyperdimensional Animals

Invisible Allies is a combination of Hawaii-based Bluetech and Philly’s KiloWatts. The two collaborated on beats over an ocean, releasing Hyperdimensional Animals at the end of 2010. Now, the duo are on tour, bringing their hybrid sound to eardrums around the US and Canada.

Individually, each of the allies have a pretty different sound. Bluetech’s music is electronic, but it’s instilled with a melodic calm that can only come from his surroundings on the largest island of Hawaii. KiloWatts lays into your headphones with tantalizingly sharp electronic percussion and melodies formed from a array of shrill synthetics. It’s got the harshness of Philly’s streets in its core. Invisible Allies is a pretty distinct 50/50 combination of the two, exponentially yielding something altogether new.

The duo may well be coming to a city near you soon. Check out there tour dates here. Get their album here.
